A nice roadside gastropub. Features in the Guinness Book of World Records for having the world’s worlds smallest commercial brewery (with a capacity of just 9 pints per batch) which is located in the old lavs outside the front of the pub and which brews a decent pint of ale too (Bragdy Gwynant abv 4.5%) alongside Butty Bach. The pub features in the Campaign for Real Ale Good Beer Guide 2009 and was Ceredgion CAMRA Pub of the Year for 2006.
It's a very posh food-oriented affair upstairs, well worth driving your squeeze out here for a candlelit dinner; the food is very expensive (for Aber) but very nice. Occasional difficulty in getting served at the bar due to a number of annoying locals already sitting there and not moving when you ask. There's a lovely log fire downstairs. Service with a smile. Entrance is right next to the A44, so be careful stepping outside if you’ve had a few (see below!). There's a car park over the way, be careful to park within the (very faded) lines, else the local traffic warden will give you an ear-bashing.
Well recommended for an ale (assuming you can get to the bar) and for the world record tick-box value.

Used to have Wye Valley Butty Bach on draught, but recently changed to Hancock's HB so now worth pushing on to The Druid.
But the food at TinLid is excellent, particularly the steaks.
Def a good reason to live in Capel Bangor.
