Small, functional two-bar pub that looks better on the outside than it does on the inside. No real ale but it did a fantastic Guinness, one of the best I've had in a while. Unsure whether that's luck or judgement on their part mind. Barman barely looked old enough to serve us. Food is served in a room to the rear. TV in left hand bar. Bus stops directly outside and can be early as well as late, which we discovered.

Not exactly much of an experience if I'm honest. At least the beer was better than the Swan!

New management would like to invite you back, let's see if we can make this a better experience for you, a cold Guinness awaits you.

Visited the Central Hotel in September 2013. Still a two bar pub with no cask ales. (No longer does pub food and is not a hotel) But a nice pint of Worthington Smooth at just £2.50 a pint between 5-7pm. Also a good collection of bottled real ales. Very friendly warm welcome from the owner who has been their since April (She had the chip shop next door before taking on the pub.) The property also houses Amethyst Oriental Restuarant and Take Away. Took a Chinese Take Away back to caravan when we left and it was very nice and big portions. Will call in again while here.
